Anyone make the jump from a reasonably safe investment with good return to a high risk one like a ranch or winery?

I own 22 acres in Morgan hill and was thinking about leasing some of it out to a winery for an extra source of income.

for me living in the Napa valley for so many years  we are wine centric.so I like to give a wine club subscription to a little known ( to them usually) winery for the year.Lately its been little wineries I like in Walla Walla .. little known but knock out redsand when agents take me out as the seller its usually a nice dinner when I am in their town.I like to go to whatever the area is known for.
