I don't want to put my life savings into a money pit.From what I heard, foundation problems are a real problem in that 78660 zip code, because of the clay soils.

I had a similar problem @Sandy Uhlmann and ended up getting different umbrella policies.

If you wanted to buy a lot that does not have existing BOHA and were able to get as many tests as possible done ahead of purchasing (perc test, soil test, engineering, surveyor, talking to town building dept. etc.) and they all came back ok I'm wondering if anyone has ever heard of still ending up with an unbuildable lot somehow.

Unless it has a bad oIL TO SOIL leak an oil tank eccavatIon aND removal shouldn’t be near that expensive .
