Deal makers, operators, facilitators, wheeler dealers, not really investors. :) You brought it on yourselves following the gurus and cousins of gurus, the mentors and coaches praying on the newbies who end up doing things similar to the suggested violations of what society expects. :)The perception of wrong doing is broard and deep, And, for good reason, IMO.

The TB exists only to facilitate the transaction and receive the full commission from both the buy and sell side.It's a tough game to play (trying to save the seller money on commissions when you're the buyer in an attempt to sweeten your offer, I've tried), but the commission agreement is between the listing agent and the seller, so it's usually hard to modify by the time a contract is about to be inked.
