It's easy to just let your guard down because you've got a ton of stuff to do.

I am in national guard so I keep my insurance and can pick up days if I need them.  

I'm thinking in 12 years I had a pretty good track record - I just ran up on a sociopath and had a lot of other things going on such as relocating for our business buy etc and this one slipped through, but that's how these types of leeches work - they seek out someone that has their guard down and take advantage. 

I remember walking through a house in an area where two prison guards were sharing a rental...the house was in absolute shambles but they were happy living in that mess.  

Hello everyone, For my day job/ career, I am a health services technician in the US Coast Guard, I have been in for five years now, and currently working the phlebotomy department, handling blood draws and other fun bodily specimen management.

I define wealthy as such: with a reasonable standard of living (I'm not talking about living in a tent), meaning a decent house, utilities, enough to eat, catastrophic insurance coverage (home, medical, car), something to drive, and a little "sauce" for an occasional vacation or night on the town - if you woke up tomorrow and decided "Hey, I don't think I'm going to work any more" - could you continue that standard of living, indefinitely, barring some catastrophic event that cannot be reasonably guarded against (a meteor hitting the earth, for example)? 

I guess I should keep this a closely guarded secret but BP is so upside down on ROE values sometimes it won't matter.

I retired fm the Coast Guard in 2012.
