Lastly, you're looking for the money in an arena that is not likely to provide fruitful (as you have discovered) and rather than waste more time doing it wrong, I would start by repositioning the project so it can be attractive for a Private Investor, Crowd Funding Campaign or JV with someone that has the cash to complete the project.Good luck.

the problem you are going to encounter is that your husband is going to be the only borrower on the loan and he wont be living in the home within the 60 day timeframe required by FHA. before you do anything you should really contact a FHA lender in the area , someone who is an FHA DE Underwriter and run the scenario by them. you have a lot of things going on as far as your scenario is concerned. employment for your husband in florida and you being in a different state, etc...im not saying it cant be done but you'll really need to have all your eggs in one basket before you do anything. good luck

If inflation is here to stay for a while, remember what commodity you are purchasing....land, lumber, copper, plaster, concrete, etc...all commodities in one basket with the bonus of generating cash flow, tax benefits, and ability to get leverage (essentially shorting the dollar that is depreciating everyday).I hope this provides some useful perspectives to think about and discuss.
