Worked my butt off in school and with employment while I was in school.Worked my butt off even more in school to get an advanced degree to improve my W-2 potential, and still worked in addition to school for the advanced degree.Paid down debt, and positioned myself financially so I could use disposable income towards REI instead of nicer cars or fancy clothes or whatever else people burn money on.Partnered with like-minded individuals with similar goals and outlooks to increase growth/acquisition.And here I am - never had to raise "private capital" because banks are more than happy to work with me.

As are the higher costs of home and auto insurance, property taxes and city income taxes.There used to be a valid concern about where to shop in Detroit, but there are a lot more options now for groceries, clothes, restaurants, bars and entertainment than there were.

The 1st level where they are living will have a lower amount of radon that is acceptable by EPA standards but they use the basement to wash clothes, which will have 2.5 times over EPA standard amount of radon.

I know at least 2 of the 4 tenants go to the laundromat and just run 1 super sized load for about $5.00 with all their clothes in it every 2 weeks instead of individual ones in my machines as they have told me this is easier for them.
