After you look at a few dozen you will get really good at estimating repairs.I know a light cosmetic remodel around here on an averaged sized house with the finishes that I put in my projects will cost around $100,000.If I'm moving some walls around, enclosing a carport, or have bigger ticket items like windows, roof, HVAC then I know that same house will cost around $150,000-$175,000 to remodel. And if I'm building new I know I can find a builder to hire who will end up between $325 - $450 per square foot for new construction.
