When I was in my mid-20s I played poker for a living and was fortunate to do pretty well for myself.

I had poker chips printed to use as business cards.

I have poker buddies who I'll happily hand $30K in cash to sit down in a poker game without so much as a handshake (and not think twice about it).

Well I did have the carpets cleaned after we had a poker party in it, but that was it.

I can go to a poker game and make that in one hand. 

Real Estate investing is a lot like playing poker...and no because R.E. 

If the numbers tell you it's a bad deal, much like a bad hand in poker, you fold in poker, and you fold in REI.  

There's a one in about 40,000 chance that one hand of video poker will result in a royal flush. 

It's hard to imagine him saying that price with a straight face, but this guy's been playing poker longer than I've been alive, so he's got a little bit on me (a lot, actually).I don't know about the rest of the board, but if I'm going to put effort into doing the due diligence and putting together the deal, I want to see some cashflow.  

There are definitely some similarities between poker and real estate negotiations.
