Also tourism there is booming, no passport needed, since it is part of the US and cruise business is expected to grow steadily for the next 7 years so i am focusing on Old San Juan since that is where cruises dock and properties there have the highest demand for Airbnb One more thing, the convention business is getting ready for a huge come back and will continue to grow for years to come.

I have done this for my clients and it's pretty nerve wracking for the client, but overall a simple process.The client has to send their passport into the US for several weeks while everything is reviewed.

Thinking they already went through the trouble to get it, so don't want to just let it go in case they end up needing it again one day, they can avoid having to do 63 hr pre licensing course, fingerprints, background, passport photos, and trying to pass the state exam all over again...easier to just leave it inactive for a rainy day I suppose...

@Mike Lambert Well you can also open a bank account in DR and build your “credit” (we do not have uses a measure like “credit scores”) and with your SSN, your W2 or 1099, passports and a bill you can go to any bank and try to apply for a “mortgage” or a Loan.
