I don't disagree with any of the above, but there's some nuance here to consider as well. 

Ya I dont disagree .. it will all shake out in the wash.. and really nothing might change.. on the private remarks the listing agent will just say Courtesy to brokers..

Most will tell you STRs are a lot of work and I won't disagree with that if you don't know what you are doing.I will say though, we have been able to put together some rock-solid systems and processes to streamline that to minimize the work and maximize the returns.My business partner and I are actually writing a chapter in a new book that is coming out this year about unique stays.

The real estate agent job will give you some exposure to this, but not nearly as much.I disagree with your statement that real estate investing is primarily networking and marketing.

Almost all of our tenants have been with us 5+ years.Also, and some may disagree with this, but we went into a "get to zero debt" strategy a few years back so we had less exposure to potential interest rate hikes. 

I think they work great, others on this forum disagree.
