Because yeah, the only thing that changes is the dang paperwork and a few minor details. 

I just get invoices for any expenses and drop in QBO....it works great for me with 5 properties and a business.Good luck.

My tax accountant team left me in the dark when tax season was here and required me to pay the invoice for 2024 just to talk to my tax accounting team to file my business and personal tax return for 2023.

I don't know how any of this works, but if does decide to sue me.. is there a chance I might be paying more out of pocket than the $6,600 I have left on his invoice to pay him? 

Your household names: Ernst and Young, Deloitte, KPMG, etc all offer audit services, as do your regionals like Grant Thornton.A full audit will typically consist of spot checking everything from invoices/receipts tying out to specific checks paid by accounts payable, and down to leases being input into the system, and tying rent payments to cleared checks.  

Make sure you discuss it ahead of time with them that your husband is a "Professional" GC and his company will be the one providing invoices for the work completed.

I am all in favor of professionals charging for the value they provide but dang $20k-30k++ is a TON! 

If your contractor chose Bank of America for their business account then they should have asked about and discussed timing and fees for different deposit types before choosing, ask their clients to use Zelle, or have a separate payment service like one contractor I use has pocketsuite for estimate, payment and invoices.

I already paid for their fees as well, when they sent me the invoice right after extension.Is this normal?

That will not cover much, so you need to find a GC as well.Beware of Handymen who try and work around this law by billing multiple invoices for one job and tricks like that.
