As a new landlord, familiarize yourself with tenant laws and have a solid lease and screening process in place to protect yourself.Be prepared for maintenance expenses by setting aside funds, and if managing the property feels overwhelming, consider hiring a property manager to handle day-to-day tasks.

It's a complex process and there are a lot of unknowns for a first time investor.

Please know that I realize it is a huge job and huge learning curve and may very well not make good sense, but I want to do a thorough analysis  to determine that (and also what price it may make sense for).

Otherwise, if you prefer not to go through that process, you'll be hit with a 25% tax on your rental income, which can eat into your profits.I also recommend investing in a couple of cameras and a good smart lock for security and monitoring.
