thanks @Joseph M. everything almost back to normal here.well from what i can tell the market has slowed down a bit, a lot of damaged property, i've seen 10-20k discounts in some desirable areas for SFR but that may not offset the damage

My opinion of the grip strip is it works and looks really nice so long as you're using one that is a design that would have small gaps normally, i.e. wood flooring.

Once one of you is a civilian with income high enough to make it relevant (that statement I just made is PROBABLY true, for MOST people), you can actually smoosh whatever remaining VA entitlement is remaining between the two of you in order to bump up what you'd normally be able to get with a VA loan, in terms of purchase price, without putting anything down.
