IMO, projecting financial ratios are pretty much spinning your wheels in RE.

I've read thousands of posts on this site and others and I don't recall ever hearing this idea, at least not called out specifically.

Here's a new spin on direct mail marketing that has been very successful for me and others I know, this company www.CallerTech.com tells you a persons home address, home ownership status, market value, social media links and a lot more from just knowing thier phone number.Here's what I have been doing, when someone calls on my listing I use it to find out everything about the caller that I can, if I see they are a home owner and I know they are thinking about buying a new home they will need to sell their current home so I send them a listing proposal ASAP. 

Yes, most people do not earn $100,000 a year working, paying rent. and spinning their wheels.

Let's not selectively quote a news story and spin it in a way back up our worldview.
