I have read recently that due to the low number of REO properties a lot of big investors/hedge fund buyers have moved their focus from Vegas to Atlanta, Georgia and other parts of the Southeast.

It is not offered in the Southeast.

If housing is too expensive where you want to live, you can go a couple minutes north, south, east or west to a more affordable area.The demand is much lower in most parts of the midwest so the affordability should remain as long as the demand remains the same.

We're in the Sebring area (little southeast of there).

I’ve been trying to find growing markets in the Southeast that are more reasonably priced than Raleigh.

@Joshua Metherd I avoid the northeast and southeast areas generally but have bought some there, avoiding the most blighted/dangerous zones.
