If it was older when you moved in in that works even better for you.Whether or not they were even justified in replacing it is another issue.

For years we had a local chattel lender who took on higher risk loans for those without the large down, not super high credit, and on older homes.

That being said, if it is an older property that cash flow can all be washed away quickly with continual maintenance and repairs.
