SoCal is just too expensive for my taste (and experience). 

I am definitely an advocate for pushing the comfort zone as I have done it time and time again so far just in my college career, so I have gotten a taste of its rewards already. 

Mainly just looking for ideas about exterior and interior colors and how to revamp that kitchen tastefully. 

Finally, it'll also give you a taste for landlording.

After watching friends lose millions and in one case several hundred million in the 2008 crash, I am convinced that building cash flow with little risk is that way to go, and putting your personal house on the chopping block is too risky for my taste.

Good taste - It is very inexpensive to paint and we have flippers who'd make world class designers.   

However I opted to make my own for budget and simplicity reasons and decided to try to do a tasteful job..

At the moment yes, I’m not worried about paying the mortgage for 2 months but to be hammered with $3k in damages plus two months would no doubt hurt and leave me with a sour taste in my mouth. 

Just typing this brings back the bad taste in my mouth about my case and the process.

All three of these options will give you a taste or renting or flipping.
