Although I find it hard to fathom that an inspector is looking for the state approved stamps a lot of times they would have to take the fixture out to see it.Where I learned all this is a shower pan in a flip in PDX.. the buyer of the home was over 400 lbs and he cracked the brand new plastic shower pan.. upon taking it out..

., could you manually trim the hedge and then put some kind of plastic dividing wall to keep the hedge from encroaching and force it to grow towards the neighbor's yard so you only have to trim it once in a while?

it would cost about zero to put a piece of something up to cover the gap. if it is a chain link fence you can zip tie a piece of plastic  - it would cost about $10.
