Better yet some people  freeze the credit cards in the freezer and only thaw out in case of a true emergency.A new investor might be better off going to local investor meetings for their area and buying an experienced investor lunch or dinner,offering to run errands for them for free,etc. in exchange for a little knowledge to get started.    

In exchange I can invite you for coffee or dinner and tell you about the real estate market in South America and Europe. :-)Someday I would like to get some buy and hold properties in the US with good cashflow (maybe in the Midwest), buy I think it is easier for a foreigner to start with a genuine business.

Me, I wake up  for work at 6am and get home from work around 6:30pm, grab dinner, check mail, study programming, etc. and get ready for the next day.

This is my first post on BiggerPockets and I was wondering where to find local investors that I could potentially take to lunch/dinner in exchange for a hour or so of their time to talk about real estate investing.

Every day mon - fri i would spend $2 on coffee , $5 on lunch and $7 on dinner every day.

I know in the past, I have saved up my points and had the full intentions to use the funds strictly for a vacation but then decided later on to use it for something else like business cards or advertising or to take my girlfriend out for a nice dinner and then I never went on the vacation. 

Also reach out to successful people in each arena, take them out for a nice lunch or dinner and talk to them about why they chose each of those strategies. 

Ironically if you know that, for most small jobs by the time you are done dealing with a hire, you could have just knocked it out yourself and used the money to buy a nice dinner/bottle of wine.If you don't want to go the CL route, feel free to PM me.

You live on it when needed, yet hire a captain to run sightseeing tours, dinner cruises, dive trips, etc. 

Walk the neighborhoods talk to people in the coffee shop at dinner out walking their dogs at the park?
