Many companies are not interested in getting involved with STRs, which are still largely unregulated in many areas.

Unfortunately, unless it's literally only for a few days until they are transported elsewhere, there is never a guarantee how long a placement will be.

I know in many western states its pretty unregulated as long as you stay with business purpose loans which is why many of the private lenders are based out there that I've found.I'm still not clear, however, if you are lending out your own money if there is any regulation. 

You can't leave anything on the property while you're not there.Funny story - one of my hobbies is blacksmithing and I was transporting one of my anvils one day and stopped at a rehab.

Properties close to public transportation and the expressway would be a plus!

Of course, you can always rent the best suite at the Hilton, fly first class, and use a limo for transportation to go check on your annual rentals and deduct all of that!
