Small-scale commercial (mixed-use, 5-unit apartments, strip mall) are often handled by more residential agents where they are used to a different way of doing things.

Just make sure they allow units to be held as rentals, if so, then what are the terms and conditions if any.Good luck!

Last year, the city required a bank statement, which was not overly difficult for me to produce; however, this year the city of Chicago required either a homeowners exemption or a state license showing the exact address and unit for the listed AirBnB.

Currently landlord pays for all utilities, is a system/product/device that can be installed to the water meter that tracks the usage of water through each unit so I would be able to bill the tenants separately?

Subsidized housing and incentives for developers to create affordable units are also critical, especially for supporting lower-income families.
