1) fill up truck and trailer with trash if there is any and take it to the landfill 2) replace exterior doors if any are broken and/or change locks 3) fix the roof if it's leaking and fix damage caused by water to structural elements 4) check out the electrical and plumbing and fix as needed 5) fix drywall 6) paint 7) refinish or paint existing hardwood floors or put down HDF laminate 8) put in cabinets, toilets, sinks, appliances, etc if what is there is not easily restorable 9) replace windows that are boarded up or broken through both panes 10) check the HVAC system if one exists and fix or replace as necessary 11) add/replace interior doors, toilet paper holder, outlet covers, etc 12) clean, stage, advertise

If you are not a professional cabinet builder/refinisher I do not think you are going to turn these into something that looks to be made by a professional.

I do agree with the other posts on here that you could find a cheaper option to refinish the bathroom. 

We paid the kids to refinish the old furniture. 

We refinished the hardwood floors so there's not a whole lot that can be damaged.

Get it refinished for about the same cost as carpet.

It can go over existing hardwoods, even when that hardwood is not worth refinishing- which is what I encounter.  

These can be refinished and look great.

From what I can see, the improvements include a new kitchen, paint, refinish floors. . . .then a $200k price jump 2 month later.

It costs a little more upfront, but once installed, you can sand and refinish multiple times, rather than replace.
