Her packages were left hanging from the mailbox or had dropped on the ground.She then intimated to our inherited live-in Maint guy (who we also eventually evicted) that she would fake a fall, sue & split the money.

Also Condos Tend to be the last to rise and first to fall when markets change, FL is highly volatile, especially condos, so unless you buy WAY under market, your risk is pretty high especially if you want to get out at a low point in the market.

If either doesn't pan out -- either the 1B deal falls though or the permits cannot be obtained -- they invoke the contingency and walk.Now, if the contract had express language concerning the settlement date being pushed back to allow for buyer to satisfy either of those conditions, that would change my opinion completely.

My hunch based on what you are saying is that it's the risk factor for the lender on the deal falling through, and the lender being stuck with land...the second issue is the unknown on the length of the loan if the national builder falls through.
