@Monte Blink, another thing I've done is join trout fishing groups on FB, especially in the areas near my rentals. 

I also don’t believe in macro data, I believe that if you cast a net big enough, you’ll catch whatever fish you wish to get.

is your best bet on this advice.I have spent a lot of time in BC which is just fabulous.. and Calgary gives you access to all the wonderful natural things of BC not to mention great fishing right there in the Bow river.from what I know its also a Calgary financially there is a lot of things going on there with the oil fields up north.. they are OIL sands..
