Hang in there, the elections are a short time away and may bring some relief or not.

I would say to invest and provide relief rather than allow a neighborhood to become blighted or "changed".

The SSCRA was supplanted by the the SCRA (Servicemembers Civil Relief Act) in 2003 and has been updated several times since in an effort to stay ahead of the banks, businesses, and landlords that continually try to circumvent it.

Commercial lending has gotten more and more restrictive in recent years, with some relief recently, but it remains tough to get.

I was under the impression that the tax relief from the loss was not created under Bush, it's always been an option to request that I know of, but was specifically stated for short sales after Bush, not part of the Bush tax cuts.

I think there may be better opportunities in the future to buy at better value once the government stop assisting with checks.With that being said, its been a relief that this summer is going to be successful for us and take care of our bills for the year. 

I’d find it more of a relief since I would want to be monitoring as I’m super attentive to it to make sure overages don’t accrue over time.. but another problem is.. doing this at scale..
