I would use them not necessarily because I think the chance of recovery would warrant it but because they both report the issue to the credit bureaus.

So old age, wear/tear, or minor items (leaks) usually don't warrant them paying for a full roof replacement.Best thing to do, is to find a good "local" roofing person/company, that can be trusted to tell you HONESTLY if there is hail damage (after storms), or is able to do the small repairs.

You do need to talk with both an asspro attorney and a CPA to set things right, but even then you need to know what do you want, now and for the future, and to ask the right questions (otherwise, if the CPA and lawyer are not excellent, and that excellence/attention tends to be direct proportional with the pay rate, the answers you'll get will be as good as your questions).You are mixing several concepts that need to be handled properly: LLC formation, property transfer, DOS clause, asset distribution per entity, bookkeeping and accounting, taxes, asset protection, co-mingling - each big enough to warrant its discussion thread.PM/call me if you want me to detail my post and some referrals.
