I'm a firm believer if you use the full suite of features they offer it is a very beneficial and powerful tool and would scale the larger you get.I think forcing online payments/getting your vendors on board with eletronic payments/online invoicing would be a very large timesaver.

One thing is that you need automatic invoicing and billing.

For example if you did a bunch of reno work and rather than putting it in line 14 lumped together you put in line 19 with a "see statement 1" and then statement 1 has itemized reno costs that match invoices you can share with me dollar for dollar and line by line (force your CPA to do this, she or he will not want to... and obviously keep your invoices that your contractors provide!)

Not sure on state specific laws, but make sure to document everything, including communications with tenant, invoices from the trash hauler and cleaning company, and take photos.
