On the other hand, I think the future will place a great deal of value on a ground floor, wheelchair accessible suite as the proportion of seniors continues to grow.

Unfortunately, when you say "comfort" pets, you are likely talking about service or emotional support animals, and you are already required to allow them without any additional pet deposit or pet fee as they are considered medically necessary,  like a ramp for a wheelchair must be accommodated. 

Maybe fifteen grand to the right guy with the right connection, and he'd be in a wheelchair with ruined kidneys for the rest of his miserable life.

Asking you to put in a wheelchair ramp or designate a parking space for the handicapped tenant is reasonable.

Hello fellow Pocketeers, a little background, I am part of an investment team, who operates in the Central Florida area (Polk county, Lakeland, Bartow, Mullberry, Winter Haven, Auburndale) while we mostly deal with traditional SFR's (Single Family Rentals) we recently purchased a property which has been modified to provide access to people with disabilities (Wheel chair ramp, over sized doors, over sized showers etc.).

Then suddenly things changed, she became wheelchair bound, wanted me to build a ramp even though she also was looking for  a new place that would work better for her.

I'd like to start a very important discussion about rentals for disabled and after a  brief research (at least 3 appropriate properties among more than 200+ available), I've realized that somehow there is no any specific site or online resource that will help disabled to find wheelchair accessible apartments or properties, that are suitable for this category.

However, due to my health issues (wheelchair), I think we need to strive for an even greater income stream in our future.But I'm starting to run into a few problems...finding a lender to finance a fifth home (we have 3+ our current home), reducing the loan acquisition costs, finding properties that provide a similar return in a market where prices are going up, and finding the funds to invest.I have found on-line forums on different subjects to be a terrific way to learn new things, and I expect nothing less here.  

You cannot discriminate against this particular prospect just because they are in a wheelchair, even if the floors were just buffed and sealed.
