They're not afraid of doing grunt work to rebuild their lives here, if we let them.

I would rather spend the money for a different insurance policy that would insure full rebuild cost.

Do you think they can do a total tear down and rebuild? 

@Omosalewa Aderonmu, I was about to start building one and then thought I should check out the BP forum assuming I don't need to rebuild something others have.

No different than any other natural disaster... hurricanes in Florida, wild fires in California, Volcanoes in Hawaii, etc.Regardless, your property insurance will rebuild your house if it is hit by a tornado... so ultimately there is no reason to avoid the area because of that risk in my opinion.  

When I got licensed in Philadelphia I was blown away to discover I could take the OSHA 30, have the appropriate car insurance, and basically tear down and rebuild a house from the ground up with zero experience.

That is calculated as the Replacement Cost (RC) (cost to rebuild today with like kind and quality) minus the depreciation. 

Planning, bidding, demolishing, rebuilding, etc…. and time it to be finished when the “inherited lease” is up.

The intent it to completely rebuild these units (200+ people living in these townhomes). 

Hopefully, in a couple of years, they'll be rebuilding and who knows maybe it'll eventually be the place to be.
