Dock rash, going through shallows and dinging props, losing lower units, spilling drinks all over the boat, etc. it would require tons of maintenance, or at least cleaning between renters.

If you do rip is out yourself, you should have facial and body protection and dispose of it properly.

You can refuse to show it to smokers, cat owners, people with facial tattoos, people taller than 5'3" and even people that are too skinny or fat.Fair Housing  and local laws have protected classes.

Maybe I want to limit exposure to people that might make rash or poor decisions.  

Exactly Pasatiempo golf course Santa Cruz.. 10th hole I think I was holding on to the back got ejected and landed on the cart path had a massive road rash :(  golf cart totalled case of beer strewn across the fairway along with the clubs we just pulled it all together and ran for the car never to go back  .. a the things you do at 19 or so.   

In this environment I'm dead set on not making a rash decision into a bad deal.

IF it's not your age, it your hair, style of shirt, skin color, gender, facial hair, choice of car, tone of voice, ect... you cant appease everyone nor should you try.

Be patient and don't make rash decisions based on short-term market conditions.
