And the really messed up ones, they don't even give a landlord an option, per fine print in contract, they just go out and do whatever and send a bill after the fact.

They can and will fine you heavily and order you to remove it completely if you don't go to them first and ask for an inspection and do what they want to make it legal and permitted.Don't try to "get away with it".Be a businessman and fix the problem the right way.

On the surface that sounds fine except with VRBO I did not where I have access to their credit card to charge them directly but rather I could submit an extra charge and it's up to the guest if they pay or not.
