They will continue to be used so long as there are investors who purchase them and do not demand a higher standard of instrument such as a mortgage or deed of trust properly executed, recorded and maintained.

Despite the fact that you'd think cities like Ankeny would demand a huge premium for housing prices, I've found that you can get a much nicer house in a much nicer neighborhood that's been built far more recently for $200,000 or so than what that same money can buy in Newton - and that's sort of peculiar to me.
