We had an accounting system once that necessitated doing this - not ideal, but it keeps the assets and liabilities straight and AP is just an accrual until you pay the bill.

I'm in the training and have found it very helpful, but I'm unclear about the legalities of billing oneself as a private money lender if you are not licensed by the DRE.

When Clark Griswold asks the mechanic how much is the bill, the mechanic looks at the gas station attendant, they both laugh, then looks at Clark with a serious look and asks Clark, “How much you got?”.  

It broke day 1, it was fixed day 1, here’s a bill for 75% of what I paid to handle it myself.
