I see some lenders out there would just pick the "lowest" rate and the client ends up paying more than 1% of the loan amount at their closing costs.Key point is "Lowest" rate does not mean the cheapest rate  I have worked in traditional community banking for over 7 years.

I don't have any apartments in the traditional/complex sense either, and I'm sure that turnover is higher in those.  

Many brokers are open to part-time agents, especially those focusing on investing rather than traditional sales.

I though the benefit of having this membership structure was to cancel the subscription (eviction) without have the traditional lengthy process.

Partnering with others can spread the financial risk, while seller financing may eliminate traditional down payments.

What I’m trying to get at is this: are there ways to provide brokerage services to principals with the same or greater value as best traditional practices for far lower cost?

Firstly, they are significantly more affordable than traditional houses, often reducing the financial burden of homeownership.

For those that rely on traditional methods and personal experience, I can understand this perspective.
