I have come across an opportunity to acquire a large quantity of vacant land at a very minimal cost. We are in the process of doing our due diligence to ensure the land is in a desirable location.

Trulia, as the underdog, had brought out a number of innovations such as crime maps, transportation, etc. before Zillow.

In Nov 2017, my real estate agent told me she sold a home in Palo Alto, 2 bedroom 1 bath about 1200 sq ft with 5500 lot for $2.8M! 

I've been in the REIT space for a long time and there hasn't been much innovation on the data front in resi real estate.

What do you think of the many ways to invest in RE, like innovative ways you don't have to be physically involved?

There is a ton of wealth in Iowa and Des Moines specifically and I think the trend continues - however, deploying some of that capital into a home grown innovative technology sector would be preferable to not.I'll get back to you with any further info on your immigration specific question that I find.Jim

I.e. originally listed for $450, expired off market in Nov at $425k, relisted at $425k and sold for 435.

Something being trendy/fashionable in the moment is not always what leads to the upward trend you allude to.I think the key is innovation.
