I am a software developer and I authored our current software, so interfacing to their API is not really a big issue, but I am not sure if anyone is familiar witth the process of using an API, If you arent familiar with the good ol nitty gritty programming, you arent going to get very far before pulling out all your hair.

I recommend focusing on getting a great investment property and disregarding Section 8 in that pursuit because any property can be a Section 8 property, but a lousy investment is lousy regardless of having a Section 8 tenant or not.Section 8 will perform a basic functional and safety inspection for your units after you have an agreement with a Section 8 tenant and your local housing authority.

When we felt uncomfortable with this, and asked them to process a section 8 prospective tenant, they say they wont work with section 8 applicants because housing authority will pay the rent directly to the owner.

My plan was to "self-perform" a land contract by filling out a purchase and sales agreement for a land contract that specifies I will take over the mortgage payments, get authorized on their mortgage, and be authorized essentially to fix up the property and eventually sell it on the MLS since the land contract will give me that control/equitable interest.

A good rule - as long as the plumbing and electric has been updated, a well-built home from the mid-20th century is a better investment and will likely outlast a newer build.Credit to the respective author
