In most states, LLC “piercing” is actually much more difficult than “corporation veil” piercing because corporations demand having all legal requirements in place; holding directors meetings, separation of bank accounts, no intermingling of funds, etc.

I talked with a RE attorney today, thinking that we'd be focused on series LLCs; however, he advised against the series LLC in Texas since the "chances of piercing the vale are high in this state" opposed to others.

Co-mingling funds can 'pierce your corporate veil' and yield the whole benefit of a separate business worthless.I'm sure those much smarter and better qualified in these matters will chime in @Ray M.

Also, it seems it's getting easier to "pierce the veil" of protection, as seen in court cases around the nation as of late.Umbrella insurance is great, but in cases of an enormous claim, would not protect our personal assets.
