Work on creating a clear vision.

My five year vision for myself, is to have a mixture of single family rentals, perhaps small multi-family as well, and some flips sprinkled in each year, to generate enough cash flow for me to be financially independent, while maintaining assets to build wealth. 

It all adds up very quickly, and there are areas we could have gone cheaper, but my wife is also a designer and we execute on her visions, even if they aren't a direct line to ROI.

My husband went back for a week by himself (well, M-F because you gotta keep those weekend dollars flowing), and he sent a picture of our game room with our artwork hung and our arcade games installed - the finishing touches on our yearlong vision for the house - and I nearly shed a happy tear I was so proud.

For my next property, I have had the vision to break into the small commercial multi family space (6-25 units) on a local level, and have taken action and started the journey down that path.
