It would give you an advantage in buying when you can pay cash at closing using your home equity, but your primary home would only be compromised until you financed the new unit.

I've used the techniques in this book at work and on roommates with great success but I'm just nervous about applying the Ackerman Model in price negotiations, especially when all I can do is advise my realtor to use these open ended questions and what not then turn it over to him and wait to hear how it goes.So the starting percentage was the compromise we made with our agent.
