I did sacrifice regular exercise, any weekends away, and my wife adapted and supported.  

We will adapt. 

There are a lot of investors out there that will give you time, but you do need to show you know your stuff and know how to adapt what you are saying to where the investor is. 

I agree that having the strategies in place beforehand is a good move, but I wouldn’t want the strategies to be too rigid, in a way that would cause me to not be able to adapt to changing markets.

@Mindy JensenEver since the Louvre, and the subsequent popularization by François Mansart, a well executed Mansard roof is very pleasing to the eye ... though perhaps not to the pocketbook [They are a lot more work to shingle, shake, or leave].Given the inventory of Second Empire buildings in our region - not to mention Italianate and Gothic Revival adaptations - the mansard roof is alive and well.The same cannot be said of many later adaptations / incorporations of Mansard roofs (mid-20th century, 1960s/70s postmodern) ... many - or most - of which should have been forgotten (McDonalds comes to mind).

Also, for some reason, the LED industry has decided that the 60 W equivalent is the size they really want to sell... if you have the headroom to spare, you can often get cheaper lumens by installing a Y adapter and two 60 W equivalent lamps, rather than one 75 W, 100 W, or higher equivalent lamp. 

Even yet, my personal vision is taking form and adapting as we walk through this time of transition.

So I think VISION and ability to adapt to plans are key fundamentals to this successful partnership.
