It was still a burden and the first summer I had the vehicle in the shop for a huge engine over-haul, and the day I got it back I was rear-ended! 

It already has a rear entrance built in with steps leading up to the door making it a prime candidate for this.My equity partner who is a GC seems confident he can make this into an efficiency with a full bath, kitchenette, washer/ dryer and place for a bed.

A duplex with a studio (one-room apartment, currently rented for $500/mon) in front and a rear 2-story unit that has 5 rooms (not sure if this is bedrooms or just rooms total) plus the full bathroom in the "camel-back" rear.

The condo developments are usually a converted rowhouse with an addition to the rear and sometimes vertically to yield 3-6 units.  

Many young people watched their parents work their rear beds off only to lose their house to foreclosure.  

In regards to your underwriting and the differences in rent for the same size unit, we've found certain units (e.g. 1st floor units or rear facing units) may be more desirable and command more in rent.

This also answered another question I hadShould I buy my personal home first (currently renting...long story) or continue investing.Seems like DTI ratio will rear its ugly head.
