I do have a lot of construction skills and my wife has a great taste for design.

In the end you could end up having to try to sell a house renovated to someone's personal taste that everyone else hates.I would personally never pre-sell a house this way.  

I know it leaves a sour taste in your mouth, but I would still do it.

What they end up getting is a fully rehabbed house to their exact taste and end up at a retail price which is ok for a homeowner but obviously not investors.  

Why not carry a serious newbie under your wing...you'd in essence have a personal wholesaler feeding great tailored deals to your taste and getting them before anyone else.

My musical tastes would easily be called "eclectic".

Personally, this type of auction leaves a bad taste in my mouth.I saw a news story on a local station regarding this auction after the first day.

Minimize the nuisance rent increases (everyone says a landlord is leaving money on the table when they do this but all it does is leave a poor taste in tenants mouth).
