And contractors, oh goodness me. 

If you are a licensed contractor for instance and capable of major remodeling projects as your trade, this would be considered adding value to the property and would risk IRS action.Sounds like "improving" or "upgrading" the place is not allowed.

I'm hearing red tags are ugly here for contractors. 

This company was recommended by a waterproofing/deck contractor, who is well regarded.

I know exactly how much it should cost to hire a contractor, for any type of work on a house.

At least you can enjoy the ride once in a while.

Outrageous considering we can re-roof and reside cabins by contractor without hitting a 10k deductible.

Managing contractors and verifying quality of work/timelines can kill a deal.
