Good morning,I have a complex situation that is very strange.I closed on a property in Alabama (I am the buyer) in February and the money is still in Escrow at the attorney.The reason for this is "apparently" after the tornado the property was damaged.

After sending the security deposit with deductions for: holes in walls for TV mont, paint cost for kid writing on the wall, damage door knobs and damage to the flat kitchen drawer the tenant wants his full security deposit back stating because he was living there before I brought property and because the damage were already there.

You typically don't have the opportunity to inspect them prior to purchase, the occupants may not leave, the occupants may trash the place and steal doors, appliances, and cabinets on their way out, or you may discover it's so damaged it needs to be torn down.

You will not get any notifications when someone is there doing damage or breaking in but you can replay the footage after the fact if they dont steal the computer or NVR.I use Digital watchdog cameras and software.
