I have put up drywall, put in flooring, painted (lots of painting), put in switches/outlets, light fixtures, installed a dishwasher, removed wallpaper, hung curtain rods, put in a toilet, installed ceramic tile floor, hung kitchen cabinets, etc.I do feel that it was worth it for several reasons:a) I know what's involved in doing certain tasks.

Just be really careful with property condition too...don't let any unexpected repairs sneak up on you.You can definitely get good cash flowers around Chicago.

As far as adding outlets etc, you are correct, conduit or trackmold will be your only real option.

Don't believe me, check this out from energy.gov http://energy.gov/energysaver/articles/moisture-controlA poly vapor barrier can help in these areas as well, again as long as you tightly seal the area - around doors, windows, outlets, etc.
