I would have a decorator come in and make a few changes to make it more appealing to women who book most rentals/vacations. 

Portions of the subjectdo include decorative wall coverings which include a stone or gravel finish covered withexterior paint.

As for a kitchen backsplash that has a decorative design, we use under cabinet outlet bars to eliminate them entirely as not to disrupt the design pattern and overall look.

I know it may look like boring to you, but it is easy for stagers to decorate, and I'm guessing buyers are used to these colors now so its becoming like a "standard" new empty house ready to move color. 

I think the same mindset applies to being a contractor or a realtor home decorator. 

Same with decor, go with a theme, you need to stand out.

What I would do to soften the look a bit would be to add colorful, woodsy decor.

Building a professional listing and decorating well is important too! 

Heck, we lost all of our cool decorative napkin holders!

This is somewhat of an over simplification as there are many things that go into strong occupancy and the price you can charge, such as; decor, market conditions, season, amenities, location, etc.
