@Brian Younghans I agree with @Frank Procopio - there's no harm in asking what the terms are. 

This is where you probably want to hire a lawyer; to create the operating agreement.The advantage I saw in an LLC was limiting or separating my liability to the rental business so that if I got sued, the company would go down and I personally wouldn't be as harmed from the potential fallout.The disadvantage of an LLC is that it becomes harder to get financing terms starting out.

Business is an evil word, it means harm to me, it is the ultimate epitome of oppression and deception for greedy profit gained by stepping on and squashing every innocent soul in it's path. 

This harms sellers but that is no concern to some that will do anything for a buck.  

So I think that when each "construction worker" in this new building industry I'm talking about is handling overseeing robots that are constructing an entire apartment building instead of laying block by hand, solvent-welding DWW pipe, or tiling a shower stall, I'm pretty sure the sort of workplace change you're talking about it going to be a moot point because it will be a done deal.Let me take this just one step further.

This camp will often find the college graduate working in their same workplace and use them to prove their point - "I make the same 10 bucks an hour waiting on customers and I didn't have to waste my money on college."

From what I hear, legal shield could be a good resource as to what potential harms could he caused by continueing to rent to this tenant (if any).

When you see the deceit perputrated on innocent sellers and the harm caused by unethical and desperate unlicensed brokers on them that certainly helps one form an opinion.
