Depends on your goals and objectives.In the beginning, when I self-managed my SFR rentals, I would take calls until 10 pm (on occasion but odd how it happens at the worst time - e.g. pipe burst in rental as I was preparing valentine's dinner for my wife).Now, with over 1000+ units, there are 3 levels of managers/organization to handle tenant issues. 

I consider the expense for this dinner to be a legitimate business deduction.

They never had to ask for gas money, could use the card if they were going to dinner with friends (after asking for permission) or on sports trips, I got the points, and it slowly started to build their credit history.

Had dinner at the Hawkers Asian street fare (great place).

But also like Steve V. mentions, an 80%, fixed long-term, low interest rate mortgage on a solid multi unit property with strong cash flow in a good location/market--that is like one small glass of red wine (supposed to be good for you I hear) at dinner.
