The bigger one seems to have upped their price to 2.4M....In that market it's not uncommon for properties to be bid up by even 1M....it's monopoly money and I've often seen if prices be bid up if friends or colleagues are trying to bid on the same house...

It's not uncommon in my area to have a contractor supervise guys that aren't licensed, but the actual contractor is the one pulling permits, overseeing the job site/work and carrying the insurance policy on both the workers and the work being done.
