You will need to operate your LLC's as a separate business otherwise you pierce your corporate veil and lose your asset protection (but have to keep paying for it especially since you probably didn't realize you had lost your protection).Otherwise, I'd have to say finding a good accountant and laywer is still trial and error / referral.

In most states, LLC “piercing” is actually much more difficult than “corporation veil” piercing because corporations demand having all legal requirements in place; holding directors meetings, separation of bank accounts, no intermingling of funds, etc.

I talked with a RE attorney today, thinking that we'd be focused on series LLCs; however, he advised against the series LLC in Texas since the "chances of piercing the vale are high in this state" opposed to others.
